and draws out the best in us.

It can turn hatred into tenderness
and the desire to destroy into
a passion to protect.

It is more powerful than any weapon, government, or wealth.

This powerful gift has one purpose:
To protect us from the insidious harm that has been done to us,
in any form possible.

Forgiveness produces results so far out of our normal experience
that it feels mysterious.

Forgiveness brings alienated enemies together again;

People who hated each other.
People who loved each other.

People who do whatever they can never to see,
or talk to each other again.

People who have pledged to kill each other.
People who have killed each others' family members.

& the most mysterious thing of all?

When people forgive,
their hearts are mysteriously woven together in love.



Like repentance, forgiveness is a matter of the heart.

The act genuinely clears the mind and emotions of sin and all
its effects in us.

How will we know then, if we've forgiven someone?

Only when we know that we can genuinely and sincerely offer
that person our love, because if forgiveness stays only in our minds,
and doesn't sink deep into our hearts,
it cannot be effective.

In simpler terms,
its a preparation for us,
to be ready to love again.
